An application to fool Blacktree's iTunes-LAME application into using the LAME encoder, as installed by our installer.
Blacktree has a application for iTunes, which enables you to directly import audio as mp3 into iTunes, encoded by LAME. This application, called iTunes-LAME, has an old version of LAME built-in. So I received requests whether it was possible to let it use the latest LAME encoder, as published (among others) by Thalictrum.
And, yes, that is possible. What I do is: I rename their built-in encoder to 'lame.old' and put a symlink pointing to our lame in its place. This way, when iTunes-LAME invokes the LAME encoder, it automagically gets ours instead. This will even continue to work if you install an even newer version of LAME when it comes out.
Of course, when you want to revert to the original version for some reason, you can do that as well. LAMELure gives you a Restore button for that.
Now, since version 2 of LAMELure, you can select where iTunes-LAME and/or the LAME encoder are located on your computer.
